Hanan is the Tagalog goddess of the dawn. She represents the entrance of a new life phase, the start of a new annual cycle, and the beginning of a new day. People offer her harvests and prayers at the break of dawn for various life phases, like the birth of a child, entering adulthood, and death. When roosters cluck in the morning, it's a sign that Hanan has blessed the start of the day.
